Before your first shift
Read the guidelines, sign the volunteer agreement and you are ready to join the Kasanje team.
What every SMCF volunteer agrees to
Child protection first
Never be alone with a child, never photograph a child without consent from our staff, and report any concern to the safeguarding officer the same day.
Respect the community
Dress modestly, greet elders, ask before entering a home, and follow the lead of the local team on every visit.
Health and safety
Bring your own travel insurance and vaccinations, use the clinic's protective equipment, and never give medical advice beyond your qualification.
Show up and log your hours
Confirm your shifts on the volunteer schedule, arrive on time, and record hours after each shift so your service is credited.
Confidentiality
Patient records, beneficiary details and household information stay inside the programme. Nothing goes on social media.
No cash gifts
Support flows through the foundation so it is accounted for. Give donations to the office, never directly to a family.
Sign your agreement
Your signed agreement is saved to your account and shared only with the SMCF secretariat. Once it is in, you can pick shifts and track your hours in the member portal.
